Elevator overloading poses safety risks to passengers and mechanical stress to hoisting equipment. This automated elevator control system incorporates a load cell mounted beneath the cabin floor to measure total passenger mass before door closure. The PLC compares measured load against the rated capacity; if exceeded, visual and audible warnings persist and door closure is inhibited until sufficient occupants exit. The control algorithm manages floor call registration, motor drive direction, and door sequencing through a state-machine implementation in ladder logic. Position feedback from incremental encoders ensures accurate floor leveling within millimeter tolerances. Emergency protocols include battery-backed lowering to the nearest floor upon power failure and fire service mode override.
