Welcome to Kerala Project Center.
This project applies regenerative braking principles to bicycles. A DC motor/generator mounts on the frame with a spring-loaded clutch engaging the rear wheel during braking. The rotating wheel drives the generator, and electricity passes through charge controller to a lithium battery. The electromagnetic resistance assists braking. Stored energy powers LED lights and USB charging.

During braking, DC generator engages with wheel via clutch. Kinetic energy drives generator, producing electricity that charges battery.
5-15% of total energy expenditure. In stop-and-go riding with frequent braking, recovery rates are highest.
LED headlights, tail lights, turn signals, mobile phone charger (USB), small GPS device.
