Welcome to Kerala Project Center.
Access to clean water remains a challenge in many rural areas. This project creates a human-powered water purification system using a modified bicycle. Pedaling energy transmits through chain drive to a reciprocating pump. Water passes through multi-stage filtration: sediment removal, activated carbon, and UF membrane. The system requires no electricity and produces zero emissions.

Pedaling rotates flywheel connected via chain drive to reciprocating pump. Water pushed through multi-stage filtration.
At 40-60 RPM, approximately 15-25 liters per hour – sufficient for a small family.
Sediment filter, activated carbon filter (removes chlorine/odor), and UF membrane (removes bacteria).
