Traditional college elections involve paper ballots, manual counting, long queues, and vulnerability to errors and disputes — problems that digital voting directly solves. This project delivers a secure, transparent, and efficient digital election platform purpose-built for student union, department, and institutional elections. The system enforces election integrity through multiple security layers: secure voter authentication via student ID and OTP verification, one-vote-per-student enforcement through unique voting tokens, encrypted ballot transmission, and anonymized vote storage that permanently separates voter identity from ballot choice. Feature modules include an Admin module for setting up elections, registering candidates with manifestos and photos, defining voter eligibility, and opening/closing voting windows; a Voter module for authentication, candidate browsing, and ballot casting with confirmation receipts; and a Results module featuring live turnout statistics, automatic vote tallying, and tamper-evident result publication with audit trails. Real-time dashboards display voter turnout by department and year, while post-election reports support transparency and dispute resolution. Built with Django/PHP and MySQL with a responsive mobile-friendly interface, this is a popular, practical web application project for final-year students.
