Welcome to Kerala Project Center.
Conventional fire sprinkler systems provide overhead coverage but struggle with shielded fires or rapid lateral flame spread. This mechanical project develops a rotating nozzle assembly capable of delivering suppressant agent across a full 360-degree horizontal sweep and variable vertical elevation. A water turbine or electric motor drives the rotary joint, while cam mechanisms or servo linkages articulate nozzle pitch. The hydraulic circuit is sized using Bernoulli and continuity equations to achieve adequate throw distance and droplet size distribution for Class A and Class B fire scenarios. The prototype is evaluated against standardized fire test protocols measuring control time, suppression time, and water application density.
