Online examination systems have become essential in modern education. This project builds a complete web-based online examination platform using PHP and MySQL. The admin can create and manage question banks, create timed exams. Students can register, log in, and take exams within a timed interface. The system automatically grades objective questions and displays instant results.

It is the backbone of this online examination system, handling server-side logic such as user authentication, question management, exam session control, and result processing. PHP's session management ensures secure exam delivery.

MySQL Database

MySQL is the world's most popular open source relational database. In this project, MySQL stores user profiles, question banks with multiple choice options, exam configurations, student responses, and generated results. The database schema is normalized to efficiently handle concurrent exam sessions and maintain data integrity for auto-grading.

Bootstrap Framework

Bootstrap is a powerful front-end framework for faster and easier web development. The online examination system uses Bootstrap 4 for responsive design, ensuring the exam interface works flawlessly on desktops, tablets, and mobile devices. Bootstrap components are used for navigation, forms, modals, and cards throughout the application.
