Welcome to Kerala Project Center.
Coastal and offshore environments offer simultaneous access to wave energy and solar irradiance. This hybrid platform combines a point-absorber wave energy converter with an elevated photovoltaic array to maximize power density per unit sea surface area. The wave mechanism employs a floating buoy tethered to a seabed-mounted linear generator; heave motion from passing swells drives the translator relative to the stator. The solar panel superstructure is aerodynamically shaped to minimize wave-induced drag while maximizing insolation capture. A unified power take-off system manages the divergent electrical characteristics of both sources, implementing maximum power point tracking independently for each. Survivability modeling addresses extreme wave loading and corrosion protection for marine-grade materials.
