Welcome to Kerala Project Center.
Pascal's law—pressure applied to an enclosed fluid transmits equally in all directions—enables dramatic force multiplication through differential cylinder areas. This project realizes a workshop hydraulic lift that leverages this principle for vehicle servicing. The system comprises a manually actuated master cylinder that pressurizes hydraulic oil through a reinforced hose assembly with integrated non-return valves, feeding a larger-bore slave cylinder that actuates the lifting platform. The force multiplication ratio equals the cross-sectional area ratio of the cylinders; a 50:1 ratio allows a 50 N hand force to lift a 2,500 kg vehicle. The lifting frame is constructed from mild steel channels analyzed for buckling stability under eccentric loading. Safety features include mechanical locking latches at discrete height increments and a pressure relief valve preventing overloading beyond rated capacity.

Small force on small piston creates high pressure. Pressure on larger piston generates multiplied force – enough to lift heavy vehicles.
With 50mm bore cylinder and 200 bar pump, lifts up to 2-3 tons for cars and light commercial vehicles.
Check valve prevents reverse flow, pressure relief valve prevents overloading, mechanical locking bar at raised positions.
