Hair loss affects over 50% of men and a significant proportion of women worldwide, yet most people seek treatment only after visible progression. This project develops an AI-powered hair health analyzer that detects early-stage hair loss from scalp images and predicts future progression risk. The computer vision module applies deep learning-based segmentation to quantify hair density, follicular miniaturization patterns, scalp visibility ratio, and recession indicators from user-uploaded photographs. A machine learning prediction layer then combines image-derived features with lifestyle and clinical inputs — age, gender, family history, stress levels, diet, and hormonal factors — to classify users into Norwood/Ludwig severity stages and forecast progression trajectories. The system delivers personalized reports with recommended interventions, treatment tracking over time, and progress visualization through a mobile-friendly web application. Built with Python, TensorFlow, OpenCV, and Scikit-learn, this project addresses an underserved healthcare AI niche — perfect for students seeking a unique computer vision project and for dermatology-tech startups building AI health analysis tools.
