The project aims at developing an online whistleblower system to aid in fighting corruption. In the last decade, corruption and other economically motivated crimes have been on the increase. Mismanagement of public funds, looting, bribery and other financial frauds are practices that if not checked would plunge the country into further debt, poverty and economic stagnation, thereby making the country a failed state. To check this menace and institutionalize whistleblowing as a means of fighting corruption in Nigeria, a new system was proposed and developed. The whistleblowing system will enable citizens to send information to the appropriate agencies in a secure and anonymous manner. The new system will help the citizens report fraud, bribery, financial misconduct and also assist the anti-graft agencies in investigating cases of alleged financial misappropriation. The application was developed with PHP and MySQL.
