Design and implementation of staff attendance system using biometric (fingerprint)

This undertaking addresses the vulnerability of conventional paper-based identity validation in high-stakes testing environments by introducing a fingerprint-authenticated entry management platform. The hardware layer comprises an optical fingerprint acquisition module tethered to a microcontroller, which maintains an encrypted repository of enrolled candidate minutiae templates. Upon arrival, the examinee places their digit on the scanner; the extracted ridge pattern undergoes feature extraction and one-to-many matching against the pre-stored database. A successful authentication event triggers a servo-actuated gate release and logs a timestamped entry record to non-volatile memory. The system eradicates proxy attendance, streamlines queue throughput, and generates auditable access trails for institutional compliance.
